Use of toys, games, imagination, story telling provides a safe psychological distance from the child’s problem, and allows expression of thoughts and feelings.
Play helps children find their way through emotions and challenges. It helps them learn how to connect with other people and regulate emotions.
Play therapy’s philosophy is that the child already has everything they need to solve a problem and make better choices.
Meet Ofra Obejas
I work with children, adolescents, and their families during periods of turmoil. I help families improve communication, and teach children safer and more positive ways of expressing and coping with their feelings.
Why play therapy? Because play is how children express their feelings and ideas. Play also helps adolescents talk about things that might be uncomfortable.
Play therapy helps me provide a safe environment for your child to work through difficult emotions and build coping skills.
